Wretched. You've all been there, stuck in a rut. Feeling like last week's lentil salad. Soggy, worn out, stinking of rot. (okay...maybe we don't ACTUALLY stink of rot. But you get what I'm saying.)
Anyway, I am happy to tell you, dear smelly readers, that I have the remedy! In addition to a shower, the best remedy for transforming yourself from a wilted, stinking lentil salad into a fabulous confident You is MUSIC!

Yeah...doesn't really work unless you do that.
What songs pep you guys up?

Ohhh, I love music posts! For dancing around the house like a crazy person, I still can't get enough of Shakira's Waka Waka that played for the World Cup! (But, the Spanish version!!) And on the Spanish theme, I heard Enrique Iglesias' 'I like it' last night at the gym, and I can't lie, went home and played it 20 more times haha
ReplyDeleteOh ya, and my cheesy Europop selection: (a great Dutch band)Racoon...Close your eyes
ReplyDeleteI would add Linkin Park and Jay Z's mashup of Numb/Encore.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Don Drapier or Superman while I'm listening to it, and it ALWAYS helps with writing action scenes. Oh, and Other Side by Red Hot Chili Pepp's

And you are asking me to choose...... ha ha, far too many!! I absolutely love to get up and have a boogie its a fave past-time. When I have the time! Anything R&B - good one to get people up at a disco or club is Beyonce - crazy in love. Lady Gaga - just dance is a good one to get me light happy and bubbly again. One of my all time favourites is Candi Staton featuring the source - you've got the love.
ReplyDeleteLot's of these I now have to boogie to, attached to my lappy by headphones (as our little boy is in bed by that point). Have you ever tried doing this - its a challenge but also extreemly funky fun!
I love club music, house, drum and bass, trance all that sort of stuff - yolanda - synth and strings, and their latest, I don't speak no americano. House of pain - jump around also a good one too. I think I better stop writing now I may be boring peeps a little too much!!
Happy bopping away to your fav tunes :D
Oh my. Great additions guys!
ReplyDeleteLaura: Can't believe I forgot Shakira! I LOVE Shakira! (Song #4 on her "Donde Estan Los Ladrones" is my fav song by her of all time.) Also, checked the Raccoon song and I love it!
Brad: YES to the Chili Peppers. You are so right! I have to admit (blush) that I haven't heard the Linkin Park Jay-Z mashup. I'll check it as soon as Raccoon's done. :)
abz: House of Pain might need to be added to my top favourite of all-time. And although I hate Lady Gaga, the one song I can stand from her (well..I can more than stand it. I love it!) is Just Dance. So, yeah. :) Have you checked Dragonette's "I get around?" Love that one too.
Thanks for the comments guys!
It's something about house of pain and that tune, as soon as I hear the beginning bit I just think, oh yeahhh teeeunnee! I actually quite like Lady Gaga (each to their own and all). some of her stuff is odd, but some of it is quite funky.
ReplyDeleteI have just checked out the Dragonette's I get around - I like it, I also like the Midnight Juggernauts remix too ;).
I forgot to put on my list Daft Punk (anything by them is pretty good in my book :D
